What race are you running for:

Texas Attorney General

Why are you running for this office and what are your 3 main goals you hope to achieve?

I’m a Christian first, Conservative second, and Republican third. This is a calling and not a job for me. A lot of politicians are in it for themselves or really need a gold pin and title. But like President Trump, I have rejected the state pension and healthcare, and I donate my salary. I reject the state license plate that has been known to get you out of tickets and parking fees. I don’t take the lobbyist’s NFL tickets and ski trips. I am only here to serve and to fight for conservative values. The Attorney General’s Office is not just the chief protector and defender of our laws and is not just the chief enforcer, the Attorney General sets the conservative policy for the entire state. As Attorney General, I will protect, defend, and, most importantly, advance the conservative movement ...

This is a Republican primary race. Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform?

Yes, I promise to abide by the RPT Platform.

If not, please enumerate what problems you have. https://texasgop.org/platform/

N/A

What are the 3 biggest problems for the citizens of Texas that your office will address, and specifically, how will you reduce or manage these problems?

The three biggest problems for the citizens of Texas is the Islamification of Texas, the radical left’s woke ideology, and the selective following of laws. Our laws and Constitution are not suggestions. Islam is not compatible with Western society, and the recent influx of muslims into Texas is leading our ...

What is the AG's office doing or should be doing to prevent future or continued election fraud in Texas?

As Attorney General, one of the first actions I will take is to create a stand alone Election Integrity Division of the Office of the Attorney General. Any and all election fraud compromises our Texas elections. If one person fraudulently votes, it cancels out one legal vote. The current Attorney General’s Office has done a ...

What can the AG do (or have you done) to end the practices of sanctuary cities in Texas?

The ban on sanctuary cities was a Freedom Caucus priority, and I have zero-tolerance for those that try to stand in the way of President Trump’s and Texas’ deportation agenda. I will aggressively use the ban on sanctuary cities to sue for civil penalties and removal from office of those that try to stand in the way. Stand in the way of border security and be removed from office, it’s that simple. Additionally, during the 89th Regular Session, I authored and passed House Bill 2715. This bill makes it easier to remove local ...

What will you do (or have you done) to promote ALAC (American Laws for American Courts)?

I championed the law to make enforcement of Sharia Law a crime in Texas, which passed into law this Legislative Session. Now it must be enforced. Any judge not following ALAC law must be removed from office. They have violated their oath of office. I will work with the Legislature to pass additional ...

Please state briefly, but specifically, how you will apply conservative principles to the office of Texas Attorney General.

We are a Christian nation and a Christian state. As a Christian Conservative, I aim to apply conservative principles everyday in the way I live my life. As Attorney General, I will lead by example in applying Christian conservative principles in the office. Specifically, I will implement the conservative principles of individual liberties and limited government. As Attorney General, I will fight fiercely to defend all individual liberties from government overreach, including in engaging in lawfare to block laws that erode individual liberties, as well as work with the Legislature to ensure they do not pass legislation that would erode individual liberties. Additionally, I believe strongly in limited government. The Office of Attorney General is based in Austin, which is both liberal and expensive. As Attorney General, to save taxpayers money I will decentralize the Office of the Attorney General to hire conservative agency employees that better match our shared Christian Conservative values in parts of the state that are more affordable.

What is your position on a full forensic election audit? Describe what that would include.

I support a full forensic election audit, and I helped fight to pass Representative Steve Toth’s bill that does just that. This includes verifying that non-citizens are not registered, are not voting, and that each voter is a legally qualified voter. Scrutiny of ballot by mail, early voting ballot board tabulation, and audit of any ...

How can your office hold judges accountable in cases where violent criminals released on personal recognizance commit additional felonies after their release?

We must pass Proposition 3, which I fought to pass. This prohibits violent and sexual criminals from getting out on bail. Additionally, we need Proposition 12 to pass which makes it easier to remove rogue District Judges. I will collect data from the OCA, as the Attorney General is doing with rogue District ...

Who should be held accountable for miscarriage of justice in such cases as those described above?

George Soros for one. He has elected many of these judges, and I will investigate him on day one as Attorney General. I believe that activist judges and DAs should be held responsible for those miscarriages of justice. DAs that fail to advocate against bail release or advocate for a low bail should be held professionally responsible, as well as for the judges that grant bail release. In situations like this, the consequences for the actions of a judge or DA are life and death. In Texas, many people have lost their ...

What can be done as AG to protect Texas from entities like George Soros and his organizations who fund violence and donate to leftist ideological groups promoting violence in our cities?

On day one as Attorney General, I will launch an investigation into George Soros. He is responsible for funding violent protests, such as the George Floyd riots and No Kings Protests. He has a history of funding civil unrest and violence in Texas which has cost the State and Texas residents money, safety, and ...

How will you work to remove activist District Attorneys and Judges from Texas?

As Attorney General, I will continue to collect data on indictments and prosecutions that Attorney General Paxton began. I will expand it to the OCA data for district judges and work with the State Commission on Judicial Conduct to suspend or fully remove judges from office. This is to determine which DAs have ...

Please describe under what specific circumstances governmental rights or interests should override parental rights or interests in regard to the welfare of children.

Our children belong to parents, not the government, and our rights as parents are from God, not the government. As a father to four, I am a staunch advocate for parental rights. Government does not know best, parents do, however, there are some circumstances where parents cause harm to and endanger their children. Some of these situations are child gender transition, trying to socially transition kids, exposing them to obscene materials, and other forms of abuse. Parents who seek to medically, surgically transition the gender of their children are committing child abuse. I am proud to have joint-authored Senate Bill 14 in the 88th Regular session to prohibit child gender transition, as well as the ban on social transitioning. This Legislative Session, I authored and passed the repeal of the obscenities exception, so that we can prosecute these predators.

Will you initiate proceedings against local officials who issue no-bid contracts or divert tax dollars to themselves or friends

Yes, I will initiate proceedings.

What is the difference between free speech, flag burning, and violent activism? How will you hold violent protesters accountable while upholding the 1st amendment?

There is a drastic difference between free speech and violent activism. You have a right to free speech, but that does not extend to the right to engage in criminal acts, including violence. As Attorney General, I will fiercely fight to hold those accountable that engage in violent protest that damages property, harms ...

Where do you perceive the greatest corruption exists in State government?

Taxpayer-funded lobbying. It feeds the deep state to lobby against us with our own tax dollars. It is the USAID of Texas. It is the toughest fight in Austin and earned the opposition of nearly every Austin lobbyist, but I don’t care. I can’t be bought or rented, and I will never stop fighting to drain the swamp. As a State Legislator, I give my paycheck to charity. I do not participate in the state retirement or healthcare. I do not have the state official license plates. Further, I have filed bills aimed at fighting this corruption, including the ban on taxpayer-funded lobbying, closing loopholes for those profiting off of their positions, and making sure elected officials could not give expensive contracts to their friends, family members, and spouses.

What can you do as AG to prevent Representatives like Rep Wu from promoting and donating to radical groups that promote violence in our cities?

I was called to resign and nearly censured by the Senate Democrat Caucus for telling the truth about Gene Wu. No one has done more for communist China than him, and I asked “Is he back in China?” during the House Democrat walkout. No one is above the law. If any person, including a Representative, is actively funding and promoting criminal acts, they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. These organizations need to be designated enemy entities under Senate Bill 17. That would allow me as Attorney General to take action to force them to divest their property and would prevent them from buying Texas out from under us.

Despite conflicting SCOTUS rulings in '73 & '82, non-citizens continue to drain education dollars from Texas children. What can the AG do to correct this?

The Attorney General must challenge Plyler v. Doe and overturn it, so that our tax dollars stop going to illegal immigrants. During the 89th Regular Session, I filed Senate Bill 1798 to ban in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. Unfortunately, the bill did not have the votes to get out of the Senate, however, I will not stop in my effort to keep Texas education dollars for legal citizens whether in K-12 or Higher Education. As Attorney General, I will actively seek out opportunities to engage in lawsuits to challenge the SCOTUS ruling on using taxpayer funds for illegal immigrants. This occurs in more than just education too. Taxpayers foot the bill for illegal immigrants in many ways, including healthcare. This practice places a higher tax burden on legal citizens, while illegal immigrants enjoy the handouts. I will not relent in my pursuit to end this horrible practice.

How do you propose to prevent release of suspected criminals on personal recognizance or reduced bail due to delays in indictment?

As Attorney General, I am committed to law and order and ensuring that dangerous criminals are not released back into our communities due to bureaucratic delays or activist policies that prioritize criminals over victims. Current provisions under Article 17.151 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, which ...

What will you do to remove all gender ideology and DEI initiatives from schools and higher education?

As a member of the Education Committee and on the floor, I fought for and joint authored the ban on DEI and the ban on transgender ideology in our schools. I helped write many of these laws and am the best equipped to enforce them. As Attorney General, it will be one of my top priorities to enforce these laws. ...

Regarding the Texas Constitution's Preamble and Bill of Rights sections 4 & 6 mandating religious belief, should city ordinances such as San Antonio's pro-homosexual ordinance be considered unconstitutional? What will you do to challenge this?

I do believe the ordinance is unconstitutional as it compels individuals to dispose of their private property against their religious beliefs. In this regard, the ordinance is similar to Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission case. I stand unapologetically for the sacred protections enshrined in our Texas Constitution, the Preamble’s invocation of God’s blessings and the Bill of Rights’ clear mandates in Sections 4 & 6, which affirm that every Texan has an indefeasible right to live according to the dictates of their conscience without government compulsion. Much like the Masterpiece Cakeshop case, individuals should not be compelled by the state or any of its subdivisions in how they choose to use their property, especially if that violates their religious beliefs. As Attorney General, I will challenge this and other similar ordinances in court. Additionally, I will issue Attorney General opinions declaring such ordinances preempted by state law and the Constitution, forcing local governments to cease enforcement or face penalties. Similarly, I will work with the Legislature to ensure religious exemptions trump such ordinances.

Do you believe the AG has fairly pursued election law violations such as in MUD/RUD cases? Why or how?

I believe we can more aggressively pursue these cases. As a Legislator, I have always been against MUDs. They are the creation of a new property tax and they run rampant with corruption. I have never voted for one over several thousand votes. On day one as Attorney General, I will create an Election Integrity Division ...

What is the AG's office doing or should be doing to stop illegal border crossing? What support does/can your office provide to Texas law enforcement in fighting human and child trafficking?

The biggest tool the state has is Senate Bill 4, which I joint authored and fought to pass in 2023. This is Texas’ criminal trespass and deportation law. There is currently an injunction on this law, and my top priority is to win the challenge in the full 5th Circuit, so that this border security law can go into effect. As ...

Will you work to hold teachers and hiring officials accountable to the fullest extent of the law if caught promoting gender ideology and hiding abuse of children?

Yes. During the 89th Regular Session, I was proud to co-sponsor Representative Little’s House Bill 4623 to hold school districts liable for hiding the abuse of children. As Attorney General, I will join in suing school districts that have hidden abuse. Further, if a teacher or school district is found to be in violation of state ...

How far did the founding fathers intend the 2nd amendment to go (e.g., pistol, rifle, semi-automatic, full automatic, concealed carry, open carry, bazooka, missile launchers, nuclear bomb)? Why? How far do you plan to protect the 2nd amendment?

The Constitution says, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." I believe that the Constitution means what it says. When drafting the Bill of Rights, the founding fathers knew that in order to maintain a free society without fear of oppression from the government meant that its citizens must have the right to keep and bear arms to protect themselves. When I was chairman of the Freedom Caucus in 2021, Constitutional Carry was a Freedom Caucus priority, and we got the law passed to ensure that you don’t need a license or have to pay a fee to exercise your constitutional right. As the Attorney General, I will fight against any law that infringes on the Second Amendment. Throughout my time in the Legislature, I have authored, co-authored, and supported numerous pieces of legislation aimed at expanding and protecting the Second Amendment, including making Texas a Second Amendment Sanctuary State. In the 89th Regular Session, I authored and passed House Bill 1403, to prohibit a firearm registry and maintain confidentiality of any firearms foster parents may have. You should not have to disclose the firearms you own to the government

What differentiates you from your opponents?

This is a show me, don’t tell me business, and I can show you conservative results. My opponents can’t do that or can only take credit for other people’s work. I am the only candidate in the race that has more than a conservative voting record or talks about being conservative. My record of action proves that I am an unwavering conservative that cannot be bought or swayed from my convictions. Before I ran for the Texas House in 2018, I was a grassroots activist working on passing school choice. I had spoken with my State Representative and heard him talk the conservative talk but then go to Austin and sell out his constituents and do the opposite of what he said he was going to do. That is when I decided to run against him. I worked hard to beat an incumbent, personally knocking on over 7,000 doors. When I beat him and went to Austin, I did exactly what I campaigned on, regardless of whether or not it was popular or would make enemies. Throughout my time in the Legislature, I have consistently been ranked as one of the most conservative legislators because I never compromised my convictions to promote myself. Further, I’m an oil and gas business owner and attorney. I know what it means to sign the front of a paycheck and lead an organization, and I know where the buck stops. I have that executive experience, not just taking orders or blocking bad bills. That is what the Attorney General is tasked with doing. The Attorney General will be the one leading the charge on advancing Christian Conservative policies, and that is exactly what I have done from my time as a grassroots activist to being a member of the House and Senate, to hopefully earning your support to being the next Attorney General of the Great State of Texas.

What should the consequences be for a Representative funding divisive ideology?

If you use tax dollars to push woke ideology, you should go to jail. That is waste, fraud, and abuse. Additionally, Texas has laws against sedition, like we saw with Antifa violence being used to undermine our Republic, but they were not prosecuted. Any Representative who funnels hard-earned taxpayer dollars into divisive ideologies such as CRT, DEI, or any other woke indoctrination that pits Texans against each other based on race, gender, or grievance–-that’s not leadership; it’s a betrayal of our Texas values. I’ve led the fight in the Senate to defund this poison, passing Senate Bill 17 to ban DEI at public colleges and universities in the 88th Legislature.

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? (e.g., arrests, convictions, bankruptcies)

No.
