Remains the highest rated of the state’s high officials, according to an Oct. 17, 2017 UT/Texas Tribune Poll , with 45 percent of voters saying they approve his job performance and 38 saying they disapprove
Almost Unbeatable in 2018 - good news for Republicans, not so much for Conservatives and certainly not democrats. Reportedly has a $41million war chest. Some of that will likely be used to defeat some democrats and some republican challengers to his campaign.
Because of the issues above, It's likely democrats will focus on down the ballot races that are more easily achieved
Slammed by progressive/liberal Cosmopolitan Magazine for his "Anti-Women", Pro-Life positions.

Cons

Prosecuted local RUD 10 apparently as a favor to his friend and Senate Finance Chair (who controls AG purse strings) Tommy Williams.
On the cost of a higher education, just 26 percent gave Abbott a positive rating, and 46 percent disapproved of the job he is doing (source: Texas Tribune).
