What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?

This is a Republican primary race. Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.
Yes, I will abide by the RPT Platform. I have been a staunch proponent of the Texas Republican Platform and have served on the SD4 Resolutions Committee for years to fight for this Platform. The People in our Party form this platform and vote on it as their beliefs of what our Party should stand for. They expect EVERY person elected representing the Republican Party in Texas, to follow this Platform; however, few do.
Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.
I guess we all have our own ideas of that word. I believe in being fiscally and socially conservative. I have found myself less conservative with my money than I'd like to be at times, but I've always been careful when spending other people's money. While in the Air Force, I saved our Wing over One Million dollars a year on a program that was copied by many other Wings and Groups. While on the MoCo Hospital District I cut the cost of new Ambulance Stations, by buying facilities available, rather than building new ones, and that is still happening there. Socially, I believe in less government, more personal responsibility, and a close relationship with God.
Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?
Absolutely! I have never been a Precinct Chaiman, but I have attended: CEC and Steering Committee meetings; Precinct Chair training classes; Vacancy Committee meetings; Candidate training sessions; Block-walked for numerous candidates; numerous Republican Women's Group meetings; Pachyderm meetings; School Board meetings; Every Senatorial District and State Republican Convention, since 1998 and I will conttinue to do so.
Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"
This should be an easy answer. That would be NO. However, we have Clubs that call themselves Republican that do not believe in the Republican Party Platform, nor the Rules of the Party; both of which are voted upon by the people at the largest state political convention, in the Nation. These organizations state that they are representing the Party and try to convince voters that the candidates they are supporting are indeed Platfrom supporters. We have seen this often as they deceive voters, especially at the polls. They may represent thier Republican Club, but they don't represent the County or State Republican Party.
What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1. Republican
2. Grassroots
3. Conservative
4. Tea Party
I am Republican, because I believe in our Platform.
I am Grassroots, because I believe that the Grassroots/We The People are the backbone of our Nation.
I am a Conservative, because I believe in our Constitutions, limiting the power and size of government.
I am Tea Party, because the Republican has failed to follow its Platform and Rules.
How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)
For many years in our county, the primary involvement in elections by precinct Chairs was to be an Election Judge or Election Clerk. These are both important jobs, but jobs that many people can assist with during elections. I believe the the Precinct Chair should assisting Republican candidates get elected, by assisting on campaigns, block walking, educating the voters, and assisting voters at the polls (prior to them entering the 100 ft zone).
Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?
I believe the present Steering Committee style of leadership is more in line with that of our State Party. It should not be a dictatorship.
Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?
While this organization, like many, is made up of strictly volunteers, and many have busy lives, we are growing, as our county population grows. This brings on new challenges and ways to assist our community. There are a number of committees currently, providing areas of interest that every Precinct Chair should be able to find time to assist in. The County Chair has the authority to sit in on any and every committee meeting he desires. I don't believe that asking Precinct Chairs or the County Chair to participate in at least one Committee is out of the question. Many of our Precinct Chairs actively participate in more than one committee.
Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?
Absolutely!! One of the major roles of our National and State Republican Party Chairs is to raise money to assist Republican Candidates in getting elected. This same need is here in MoCo. Money is also needed for the day to day operation of the Party. I feel it's a dereliction of duty for the County Chair not to be the point person for fundraising for the County Party, much less be involved.
Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?
I believe the Primaries should be CLOSED. If another Party wants to vote for a Republican Candidate in the General Election, I'm all for it. However, we have seen that during Primaries, other Parties have voted as Republicans for lesser conservative candidates, in an effort to change the outcome of the election.
Should the GOP County Chair be selected by the elected County Executive Committee, or in the Open primaries where Democrats can cross over for more moderate candidates?
I believe that the Executive Committee should select the Party Chair. After sitting on the MoCo Hospital District Board for 12 years, I found it better that our Board elected our Chair. We were not always in agreement on the selection, but as a body of elected individuals, we made the decision. Sitting on other Boards, they had the same policy. As noted previously, open primaries are not healthy for an organization. Remember, the Republican Party is not a government entity. It is an organization. Would the Lions Club allow someone from the Elks Lodge pick their Chair/President?
There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.
Changes of the Platform start at our Precinct Conventions, which take place on our primary election night, and voted upon by those present. The Resolutions presented there go forward to our Senatorial Conventions, where they too are voted upon, by those attending. They then are presented to the Delelgates at the State Convention, where upon they too are voted upon. If it is the desire of the majority to make major revisions to our Platform, they MUST go through the process. In the recent past one of our State Party Chairs wanted our Platform to have only 10 planks. Thankfully our Rules did not allow that to happen. God gave us 10 Commandments and our Constitution gave our government limited powers. Unfortunately those weren't enough, as man found loopholes, and more laws were written and more power obtained. The same would happen if we decreased our planks in our Platform. Who would have ever thought that our Platform would have to state that we oppsose men competing in women's sports? Unlike God's Word or our Constitution, our Platform will always be changing.
What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?
Dade Phelan has been bought and paid for. If we had a strong Republican Party, he would have never been elected to the Speaker position. He should have been removed from his position when showing up drunk from alcohol on duty. He's always drunk on power. His attack on Attorney General Ken Paxton and the cost to the AG and taxpayers for that stunt, and his killing of bills that We The People and our Platform suppported, were causes for him to be removed from office.
