As part of the shrinking middle class, I want to bring back a robust economy by putting more money in your pockets, providing medical care at a reasonable cost, and ensuring that Social Security will still be around when it’s time to retire. I am hardworking, dependable, and honest. As a CPA, I am held to level of ethics above the average consumer and I pledge to always be frank with Texas, even if the news is hard to swallow. Sunday school, youth group, bible study, and Young Life provided the foundation for my relationship with our Creator. I’m many things—a mom, Certified Public Accountant, university teacher, spouse of a retired Navy officer of over 30 years, and elderly caretaker.
My family moved to Austin when I was four, and Texas is my home. After graduating from Round Rock High School, I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas, and married my Sailor. With hard work, I rose from accounting clerk to Controller by the age of 30. My next goal led me to Silicon Valley where I earned my Master's in Accountancy and a year later, my Master's in Taxation. KPMG recruited me and I sat for the CPA exam, passing on my first try. Over the years, I have worked with small and large corporations, small businesses, and high net worth individuals and their families. When my husband retired as a Naval Officer three years ago, we returned to Austin with our child, and settled into our respective businesses while taking care of my elderly mother-in-law.
