Name 3 reasons why are you running for SREC. (i.e. including what changes, if any, are needed).
I am running for SREC to develop a better base within SD4 that is fully represented. SD4 covers 5 Counties in SETX and seems to have a bias to Montgomery County Established Republicans only. The representation needs to be spread out across the full SD4, with the ability to reign in our elected officials across the board. Currently the representation does not build well with Chambers, Galveston, and parts of Harris Counties. I have personally visited each county over the past two years to determine that our "Base" of delegates are not getting fair representation if any at all. I am running to build strength whithin our SD4 so that we may engage other SD's in creating a stronger Party in Texas. Accomplishing each issue to its fullest while appealing to those not in our Party as a conservative vote. I am running to change the apparent Californication of Texas that seems to have been plaguing our cities and towns. My hopes are to cut the social welfare issues and transient residencies and help keep the business and economical boom alive. Cutting taxes and creating better personal responsibility for my children and Your to grow up and thrive is a personal goal I have. I am not running for a Political Paycheck, I am running for the future of Texas Families and those who embrace our values.
Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.
Conservative means self sufficient to me. Not relying on he whims of political and governmental programs that thwart our freedoms. Conservative is a term used to describe a group that can govern itself with minimal regulations, while providing for a joint security from those who have no ability to take care of themselves. Conservatives are a dying breed in a world where people want to blame someone else and reset the (MISTAKE) button.
To be Conservtive is to hold true to our Founding Constitutional Values given to us by our Creator. To be traditional in our American responsibilities, and to hold firm to our Texas Constitution when subjects aren't covered within the Federal mandates.
I believe in a more Conservative Texas that relies less on the Federal overreach of our other dysfunctional states.
As a Republican, if you had to give up one of the following core principles, which one would you select first and why?
1. pro-life
2. 10% reduction in state, fed, local spending
3. 2nd amendment
4. illegal immigration
5. foreign bases
6. 10th amendment
I would select the 2nd Amendment to give up first as a core principle in my fight for continued freedom. The reason the 2nd Amendment would be first, is because I would be dead from fighting for the others.
Should Texas GOP limit their elected officials to 8 years or less from the same office, even though it will force some good candidates to leave an office?
NO. The Texas GOP should limit the perks given to those in sustained office. I believe in term limits at the ballot box. A strong party can reign in its elected officials if they were truly conservative. The official would represent its party, not commercialize it.
There's a move afoot to reduce the size of the RPT Platform. Do you agree with this? If your answer is yes, how much (%) would you reduce it and what top 3 items would you remove?
NO
As an SREC member, would you vote to allow or not allow RINO Republican Elected Officials to apply for office with the Republican Party of Texas, even if some SREC members say it would be a violation of state election law while other SREC members say that a private political party (such as the Republican Party of Texas) has the right of association under the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution? Please explain.
No. I would only allow candidates to run for office under the RPT banner if they hold true to the platform which the body delegates. A candidate who does not hold our core values can run in another party, or independently from the Republican Party. One who does not exhibit the character of a Traditional Constitutional Fiscal Conservative should not run as one.
Which is more important an issue in each of the 2 questions …
1. Reducing state spending by 5% or a 10th amendment states right resolution against Obamacare? Why?
2. Requiring abortion clinics to follow standard hospital laws or adding legislation to limit gerrymandering in Texas? Why?
1. State Spending Reductions should be 10%, Obamacare has always been an unconstitutional bipartisan tax law that was created outside of the framework of our Founding Father's true intent for law.
2. Killing unborn children is against the law period. This should not be regulated as a social issue in this state. It is wrong. Lifesaving efforts are enough within hospitals if needed.
State Spending is the only answer since the other items should be illegal across the board.
Should barbers and lawyers be licensed? Explain why or why not?
No. You get what you pay for, if you choose to use it at all. Bad Haircuts grow out or can be removed. The same is with a bad attorney.
This is a hypothetical question and not indicative of the current state chairman. In the future, if 2 candidates are running for the Texas GOP chair at the SREC meeting, and one is very conservative but tyrannical, and the other is a moderate and very fair ….. which one will you vote for and why?
Moderate and Fair... The body can operate without functional influence of the Chair if they are a strong body.
What are your thoughts regarding term limits in every elected/appointed position?
BALLOTS DELIVERED AND ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.
If the voters turn out because of a strong party, that official will hold true to the platform.
If you're an SREC member and the county chair is conservative, but a moderate complains to you or the state chairman that the county chair is cheating or being grossly unfair regarding some matter… to what extent would you support the moderate request for fairness?
Bring it before the body. If a Chair is not leading on the tenets of the platform, the body should work to change the set of circumstances.
Related to the previous question regarding fairness … and the issue of a conservative county chairman (and assuming that there was a pattern of unfairness), would you openly support replacement of the conservative chair over this matter? Even when you would be on the minority side?
Yes. Using traditional methods first, then using the body as a whole as the nuclear option.
At an SREC meeting, if a motion was up for petitioning the State of Texas to release RPT from state law, in exchange for the State of Texas not providing tax funds to defray election costs, would you vote for or against? Why?
Not sure, I'll need more information. The RPT can still set itself apart from the state through values.
Who were your 1st, 2nd and then 3rd choices, in order, for POTUS as of Jan 1st, 2016?
I was for Ted Cruz until he no longer became the nominee. I have supported our President as current position and as Candidate when the delegates spoke.
Over the five years, what SCOTUS most represented your views? Why?
Not Sure...
To what degree is the SCOTUS the final authority of justice?
To the degree the individual not following the Constitution allows it...
Do (or have) you belong (dues-paying member) to (a) grassroots group in your senate district/county? If so, which one and for how long? Please list positions held, if any?
Tea Parties, I've table topped at KWTP, and I've paid at MCTP. I have not given to MCRP although I've given to Candidates, I've given to SETX Tea Party, and to Jefferson County Republican Party through purchases and events.
What is the direction you have seen the SREC headed in, the involvement of our current SD4 Representatives in this direction and specifically, is this the direction our SD4 wants and what would you do to take the lead its direction?
Our SD has been neutralized by our SREC Reps. They do not appear to operate outside of a core closed group of friends that do not solidly follow Our RPT Platform. I intend to reverse this, Lead and Represent through actual across the board representation. I intend to help build those counties not properly represented, and to correct some of the misuses of this office. I intend to bring together all in our SD4 to build and strengthen our influence within the RPT, and to work with other SD's to strengthen Texas.
Since 1980, what has been your involvement with the state and national RepublicanParty in general, and with Republican candidates on the State, Local and Federal level, and which of those candidates would generally be considered conservative?
I've been a registered and voted Republican since 1990. I've not ever crossed over even as a tactic.
What is your vision with the RPT heading into 2020, what significant challenges do you see it facing, and what are you going to bring to the table in representing all of SD4?
My vision within the RPT going into 2020 and beyond is to strengthen Texas Values, Voters, and Lead our efforts in turning this Nation around from the abyss it has put itself into. Unifying is a challenge, but it is paramount. Californication is on the rise unless we stop it and turn it around now. This we'll do by setting leaders who can lead, and followed that can follow. Humility will be need by all as we have too many Chiefs and not enough Indians.
Whether or not you believe in the maxim that “those who knows the rules, rule”, what has been your training in, expertise or experience in parliamentary procedure, by-law drafting, serving on or assisting boards of directors, intervening in cases against grass roots activists or challenging, applying or enforcing election laws?
I have served under Robert's Rules of Order, I have protected people in foreign countries who were threatened with death if they voted in their first free-elections. I have served on several Military and Non-Military Advisory Boards, and produced legislation within groups that are currently functioning as we speak.
Special Purpose districts are said to promote community development. What's your opinion of this?
Special Purpose Districts are Crap. This is another taxing entitity that scrounges our taxes for business development through give sways that burden the actual property owner. Same as with MUDS and Development Districts which thrive as the seemingly they give away our tax dollars to lobby groups. Most SUDS were developed to stop annexation through taxation, and then have become another elected monopoly of social welfare that burden True development.
What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1. Republican
2. Grassroots
3. Conservative
4. Tea Party
Republican... I am working to Unify the Grassroots, Conservative, Tea Party, and Establishment under one Party in a joint communion.
Who's your choice for the Chair of the RPT? Why and why not for the one you didn't choose?
James Dickey. I have seen his leadership in a short time frame of leading. Cindy Asche was the second or third choice of the Establishment, and doesn't present herself as truthful aside from her personal history. While James Dickey is not perfect he lends an ear to listen. I was at an event 30minutes before Attendees were to show up, I was alone in the room with Cindy Asche, and she has never introduced herself to me. She was on the phone with the ladies of the TFRW who were stopping their activities to support her and all she could campaign on that day were complaint attacks, as opposed to her solutions. James Dickey has taken what I see as years of RPT corruption and allowed the Body and the SREC to speak and govern, not a small faction controlling the Head. Numbers don't Lie, even though lies are repeated against the facts presented by my own reading.
What candidates have you contributed to financially as well as by working for them? Please be specific as to the work you’ve done. Blockwalking, phone-banking, financially, etc.
Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Jim Napolitano, Angela Paxton, Ken Paxton, Dan Simons, Bob Bagley, James Metts, Ronald Willingham, Steve Toth, Brandon Creighton, Ted Seago, Michelle Slaughter, Weston Martinez, Mark Keough, Greg Parker, Dan Crenshaw, Clay Higgins, Ted Poe , Bill King, Ryan Sitton, Ken Paxton, Rick Perry, GOV Abbott, Dwayne Stovall, John Joslin, Will Hurd, Kevin Brady, Randy Weber, Mayes Middleton, Briscoe Cain, Dade Phelan, Ray Beck, Valorie Swanson, Erin Swanson, Gordy Bunch, Chris Wooten, Rand Henderson, Lonnie Cox, Kristin Bays!
Do you agree with RPT’s current policy to openly film and live stream all SREC and committee meetings, as well as post each vote by our SREC Executive committee members so that their constituents can be aware of how their elected SREC person has voted or should votes be conducted by secret ballot to prevent retirution from those disagreeing with you?
Yes, it's called transparency. Those who oppose it are not for the function of their body they represent, but are bought by the under the table dealings.
The members of this SREC body will help in determining the direction of the party for the 2 years leading up to the next Presidential election. We want and need the grassroots to be active in our party. What will you do to coalesce the different groups in our district?
The many groups need to sit down together. These groups have divided the strength too much. It's time to unify these groups within a forum and in each other's presence.
What actions would you take to ensure that all areas of SD4 are aware of the upcoming actions being considered by the SREC? How do you plan on communicating the results of those decisions?
By utilizing local leaders, forumns, and the personal method of face to face communication.
Will you represent all of the Republicans in SD4, how will you find out what is on their mind and how will you communicate information back to the whole district.
As I have already demonstrated, I will visit the Senate District, and not just when it's a specialty function. I will also Tally the Constituents within for the proper voice to represent with. This requires openness, transparency, and the willingness to listen beyond ones self.
How do you plan to make sure state wide that Republicans run candidates against democrats and not just yield offices to them without a fight?
Network! GROW THE PARTY! BRING UNIFYING VOICES TO THE FOREFRONT AND WIN.
