Questionnaire

General

Please describe the qualifications and experience that make you the best candidate for the office you are seeking.

Ten years in the Marines and a firm knowledge of our constitution. Now more than ever we need men and women in office who are willing to fight for the people of this republic, not for their own greed and power in Washington.

What should be America's course of action in regard to Iran's nuclear capabilities?

We should have never removed the sanctions on Iran. Also our republic should have pushed the international community to stand against this threat, Iran has made their intentions clear of getting a nuclear weapon to destroy Israel.

If we were attacked again in a manner similar to 9/11, what should be our response and what, if anything, should we do differently than we did before?

The response after 9/11 worked, it wasn’t until our current administration that the system fell apart. We surrendered Iraq, removed sanctions on Iran, stop all border enforcement and refuse to even speak the enemy that we as a republic face.

Why does the US need all these bases overseas?

We don’t need all of the current bases, we can protect our interest with a smaller footprint abroad.

Please discuss what America's proper relationship to Israel should be using past and present relationships for comparison.

Israel is a nation with a right to be free from the terror they endure on a daily basis. We start by addressing this issue for what it is, Palestine, Iran and others want Israel destroyed. As a nation they cannot find peace with people who want to kill them. As to past and present relationship I will say what is right is right, just because something was or wasn’t done in the past doesn’t mean you cannot do what is right today.

Under what conditions should the US take military action in the Middle East? - What good did the Vietnam war, Korean War, Afghanistan war, Iran war accomplish? Who benefited? Who lost?

I’ll be honest, I’ll be more than happy to discuss these issues in person but this question is a open ended question and to properly respond would require a full research paper. Also, what Iran war are we talking about? Did you mean Iraq? I will say that the military should only be used to protect the American people and our Ally nations that are attacked.

Spending

Please explain why you support or oppose federal subsidies?

The federal government was not created by the States to issue subsidies in any instance. Again this is a power play to pick winners and losers with tax monies, let the free market decide.

What have you done, or will commit to do, to reduce federal spending? Where specifically do the cuts need to be made?

I would fight to impose a zero-based budget on the federal government. Stop the automatic increase in spending each year and work to close government agencies that are not authorized by the constitution. Examples are Energy, education, TSA, homeland security, EPA.

Taxes

What form of federal tax law do you support (e.g., current, flat tax, fair tax, other) and why?

I support the FairTax. The sixteenth amendment is a violation of your fourth amendment rights, the IRS and our current tax code need to be removed and only the FairTax allows that.

1st Amendment - speech, religion

Should private corporations be allowed to discriminate against potential customers based on their race, religious beliefs, sexual preference, or any other condition? Why or why not or under what conditions?

The Federal government should not be in the business of business. True freedom is allowing the free market to take shape, if a business refuses service why would you want to conduct business with them. If they refuse too many it is a loss of revenue and goes against the goal of the business itself. Let the people and market decide their fate not the government.

2nd Amendment - guns

There have been several mass shootings in recent years. What, if anything, should the federal government do to solve this problem?

Under the second amendment all federal gun laws are unconstitutional. This is a State issue that each State should make laws in accordance with the wishes of their citizens

4th Amendment - searches

Under what conditions should the government monitor e-mail traffic for terrorist activity?

Only with a warrant for specific people and accounts. The fourth amendment should be upheld and not pushed aside for a false sense of security.

Please explain what types of information the government should be allowed to collect about individuals and their activities. Please be specific. What will you do to enable the collection of appropriate information and prevent the collection of inappropriate information?

The government has a right to anything it can gather without a violation of the citizen’s fourth amendment rights. Again, they would need a warrant for that.

10th Amendment

Please explain your interpretation of the Tenth Amendment and the principle of nullification. Do states have a right of nullification? What should the federal government do if a state attempts nullification?

The Tenth Amendment leaves everything not covered in Article I, Section 8 of the constitution to the States. The constitution gives the States the power to nullify federal law that violates the Constitution but no federal court has upheld that idea. The courts do not make our laws though and when in Congress I plan to fight for this right at the State level.

Other civil liberty

Do you support or oppose requiring schools, public health departments or any medical personnel to secure consent from a parent or legal guardian before prescribing, dispensing or administering contraceptive drugs or devices to a minor?

Kids belong to parents not the government, I would support any law requiring parental consent.

Do you support or oppose allowing a panel of qualified doctors to overrule the decisions of parents of a minor who has a serious medical situation and, if so, under what conditions?

I oppose allowing this type of panel.

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

Conception is when life begins. I would use Article III Section 2, specifically “In all the other cases before mentioned, the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make.” To overturn federal abortion laws and allow the States to handle the abortion issue.

Economy

What are the pros and cons of central banking?    Please include in your discussion the Federal Reserve in particular and its policies and actions?

I see no pros in central banking and actually the federal reserve is the third attempt at this. We had the first bank of the United States of America and the Second bank of the United States of America, both which failed. We need to start with a full audit of the federal reserve and push to put our monetary system back on the gold standard.

Do you support "Free Trade Agreements", such as NAFTA? Why or why not?

NAFTA was a bad concept and should not have been renewed. Trade agreements like these hurt jobs in our republic. We currently have a $181 billion trade deficit with NAFTA partners and US workers not only lost jobs but saw pay cuts.

Education

Please explain why you do or do not support Common Core.

Common Core is the prime example of why the Department of Education should be closed. Each State and the people of that State should decide how to best educate their children, this is not a role of the federal government.

Environment

Do you believe that humans are a major contributor to climate change and if so, what action(s) should the federal government take?

I believe the sun in the major contributor in any change on the earth’s climate. Also with our federal government only having control of roughly 350,000,000 of the 6,000,000,000 billion people it would be foolish to impose restrictions that would hurt our economy when the rest of the world does comply.

Immigration

Please list all rights to which non-citizens are entitled.

They have no rights.

Other

What measures can Congress take to ensure the preservation of traditional family values and what is your commitment to fight for those measures?

As hard as it is to say this is not the role of the federal government. Once you allow the government to get involved in families and the values we as Christians hold there is no end to the unconstitutional power you have given them.
