Senator Cornyn appears to be collecting three state pensions while also collecting his salary from the U.S. Senate.[35] These four incomes streams total to $239,383 per year. While it is concerning that Cornyn has not made any efforts to correct this anomaly in the system, Cornyn is hardly alone in this sort of double-dipping. In fact, it is common among public-sector employees as well as elected officials. It does point out, however, how generous the politicians have made their own compensation.
