General

Please describe what you believe are the most significant issues in this race, why and what you'll do to address them?

Montgomery county plays a pivitol role in keeping Texas Red. As such, I believe we should have true, conservative Republicans serving as precinct chairs so that we can ensure the county continues to elect strong, conservative candidates at all levels. I've been campaigning and running campaigns for strong republican candidates since before I could even vote so I have the record necessary to continue helping elect other conservatives to office.

Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

Absolutely, yes.

What differentiates you from your opponents?

I don't personally know my opponent, but I have experience electing conservative Republicans for the last 10+ years, even as a teenager. I've worked for various conservative legislators, making sure that liberties are protected at a state level, and since becoming precinct chair, I served as an election judge, ensuring that Montgomery Co. elections were conducted in an honest manner. I have knowledge of how the Republican Party and elections work from the bottom to the top, and I think that makes me uniquely qualified to continue serving as a precinct chair.

What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1.        Republican
2.        Grassroots
3.        Conservative
4.        Tea Party

All of these describe my political ideology. I've been active in my local Tea Party, I've worked at a grassroots level for the entirety of my political involvement, and I consider myself a conservative Republican. However, I've always been most aligned with the Tea Party ideology of limited government.

Please list 3 federal agencies that are popular in our culture and should be abolished

1) Dept. of Education

2) Environmental Protection Agency

3) National Security Agency

Should Texas GOP limit their elected officials to 8 years or less from the same office, even though it will force some good candidates to leave an office?

Though I believe elected officials often stay in office too long, and can easily be corrupted by the system, I do believe voters have the ability to remove or retain their elected officials, but I think the RPT platform allows a sufficient amount of time.

When you leave office what accomplishment/s do you want to be your hallmark, your legacy, and why?

Educate voters in Montgomery County on the principles of limited government and individual responsibility so that strong conservatives will be elected and Montgomery County can remain the strongest Republican county in Texas.

Taxes

What form of federal tax law do you support (e.g., current, flat tax, fair tax, other) and why?

I prefer the fair tax system because it is aimed at consumption and does not target job creators or wealthier individuals.

A couple of years ago, a resolution was put forth by MoCo GOP to institute a 20% Homestead Exemption.  Did you support or oppose this and why?

I did not live in the county at the time and am unfamiliar with this resolution.

2nd Amendment - guns

Do you believe the Second Amendment grants an individual right or a militia right?

The 2008 Supreme Court case, District of Columbia v. Heller, clearly asserted that the 2nd Amendment confers an individual right, and I agree.

10th Amendment

Please explain your interpretation of the Tenth Amendment and the principle of nullification. Do states have a right of nullification? What should the federal government do if a state attempts nullification?

The Tenth Amendment is straight forward - any powers not specifically assigned to the federal government are retained by the states. Often, if a state is attempting to nullify a law, it is usually something that the federal government has no authority to do in the first place. In this case, the federal government has no power to control the state. Of course, the state cannot nullify something that is strictly within the scope of the federal government's constitutional authority, but that is rarely the case.

Other civil liberty

Do you support or oppose federal funding for Planned Parenthood and other agencies that perform abortions, both in the U.S. and abroad (even if they use money derived from other sources)?

Absolutely not. The government shouldn't be in the business of funding organizations, especially not one that interfere  with the inalienable right to life.

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

It is well known that life begins at conception. We have to work much harder to elect people in Texas who not only proclaim that they are "pro-life", but who will stop making calculations and excuses for only passing "for show" legislation in Austin. It is essential to vet candidates better on this topic, and make sure they will support authentically pro-life leadership in the House and Senate, and will not shy away from bold legislation because of strawman-threats of a court challenge.

Education

Do you support or oppose allowing parents direct the flow of federal education funds (e.g., to their school or home school of choice)? Support? Oppose? Please explain.

It is very difficult, if not impossible, for education to be successful without parental involvement. If we really care about education, we absolutely must allow parental control over education decisions for their children. In general, though, the federal government shouldn't be involved in education at all.

Ethics

Do you agree with precinct chairs involvement in republican primaries? Why or why not?

Precinct chairs often do have a responsibility to be involved in republican primaries. Foundationally, our job is to uphold and promote the Republican Party of Texas' platform and the Republican Party of Montgomery County's bylaws. Sadly, not everyone who files as a Republican believes in or will uphold these principles and we must support or oppose based on those things.

What's your impression of GOP Speaker Dennis Bonnen after he was caught offering a Quid Pro Quo to Empower Texans Michael Quinn Sullivan?  Should Speaker Bonnen resign?  Should he suffer legal ramifications for his action/s?

I believe Speaker Bonnen acted in a completely abhorrent fashion in his meeting with Michael Quinn Sullivan, and those actions were only compounded by his hypocrisy and dishonesty. He should definitely face legal scrutiny for those actions to be sure that we do not let injustice prevail in Texas. Though I believe Speaker Bonnen should have resigned immediately, I am glad he will not be returning to the House next session - the situation clearly warrants his departure.

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

No.

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

Stop the incentives and build a wall so border patrol is not overloaded with a flood of illegal crossings.

Amnesty comes in many forms.  What's your view as it pertains to Texas?

Laws against illegal immigration serve no purpose if they are rewarded with programs like instate tuition, drivers licenses, and free K-12 education once they get here. The legislature must end and prevent future implementation of these programs, and any other such incentives.

Transportation

Do you support or oppose the referendum passed by both the MoCo GOP Executive Committee and SREC to allow voters, at the statewide level, to decide in the voting booth whether or not they want a particular toll road?  Why or why not?

Yes. Voters should always have a chance to vote on something they will have to pay for.

Did you take a public position on the May 9, 2015 Road Bond, and if so, what was it? And in a few sentences, explain why.

No, I was not living in Montgomery Co. at that point.

Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

Being conservative, in my mind, has the connotation of not doing extra or going outside of an authorized scope. Being a conservative (specifically a conservative republican), by definition, means we should not do more than what is constitutionally authorized or drift outside of what is upheld in the RPT platform.

Do you support the Montgomery County Republican Party By-Laws as adopted by the CEC on 6/26/18?  And if not, why not?

Yes, they were adopted by the CEC and are, therefore, binding.
