Questionnaire

General

What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?

Kenny is a nice man but he is not active in local politics. He has not participated in the electorial process by attending County Exeutive Committee Meetings as a guest nor does he participate in our precinct conventions or senatorial conventions. I believe as a precinct chair you need to be involved.

This is a Republican primary race.  Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

Absolutely.

Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.

A Conservative to me is one who adheres to a biblican worldview rather it be economic principles or social principlels. To expond on that it is one who does not vote to pad their own pockets.

Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?

Yes, I have for the last 12 years been very involved and will continue to do so.

Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"

No. We have experienced this at the local level where a Political Action Committee (PAC) will show up at the polls at the primaries and pass out their "So called Republican vote guide" but they fail to inform voters that all the candidates are Republicans.

It is a very deceptive maniulative practice used to get one's candidate elected.

What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1.        Republican
2.        Grassroots
3.        Conservative
4.        Tea Party

I can and have used all of them at one time or the other. I am a grassroots Conservative Tea Party Republican. To expond on this as stated earlier I have a biblical worldview when it comes to politics.

How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)

I believe they can and should serve in various ways when the time calls for it. At times I felt it best to serve the voters outside instead of being inside working as a judge at the polls and others I have enjoyed serving my constituents inside and meeting many of them over the years.

Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?

Yes, 100 %

Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?

Yes, If possible. Serving as a precinct chair is a volunteer position and I believe it is important to get others that are not serving as precinct chairs to serve on committees as well.

Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?

Absolutely. We need the Chairman to help raise funds for the party. He is the face of the local party and we need his participation in getting funds to help get the vote out.

Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?

Closed. We need to stop crossover voting.

Should the GOP County Chair be selected by the elected County Executive Committee, or in the Open primaries where Democrats can cross over for more moderate candidates?

A County Chair needs to be voted in by the County Executive Committee who they represent.

There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.

I would not change the platform. There has been discussion of consolidating it but I don't think that is a good idea.  I think we as delegates need to vote on each and every issue and measure.

What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?

Dade Phelan is a Liberal in Sheeps clothing. He needs to be gone. He chaired the legislature in a drunk stooper last session and it was a national embarresment.

Budget

Would you support legislative action to establish a salary framework (possibly related to the Gov. salary) for all taxpayer funded employees with a stipulation that elected officials be required to get voter approval to exceed that framework for their own salaries?

To be honest I need more time to think this through and have more discussion on it. I don't have a lot of trust on the state legislature when it comes to most things these days.

Education

Do you support or oppose social programs in our schools (like C-Scope, Common Core, CRT, International Baccalaureate, SEL, etc.)? Why or why not?

Yes 100%

Ethics

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

No

Do you agree with precinct chairs involvement in republican primaries? Why or why not?

Absolutely, we as precinct chair do not lose our activism and involvement because we serve the party in a volunteer position.

Should the county GOP chair be involved in any other political organizations, including PAC's, while serving a term as the chairman? Why or why not?

NO. We have found out locally when the Chairman has other Poltical Action Committee's he is involved wiith he they become his main focus and not the county party.

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, sign of heartbeat, 3 months of pregnancy, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

Conception. Abortion should altogether be illegal except if their are pregnancy complicatians that endanger the mothers life. This is a very sensative topic but I will always rule on the side of life. A child is a precious thing and it is heartbreaking that our County is preforming this procedure on the most innocent.

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

A fence and border patrol to man it 24/7.

Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

Holding to a biblical worldview.

List 3 changes that should be made to how elections are conducted in Montgomery County.

I can only think of two.

1) Shorten early voting to one week.

2) Use paper ballots

Do you support current RPT chair Matt Rinaldi in full and if not, what do you disagree with?

I support Chairman Rinaldi. He is a good conservative man.
