Ben graduated from Round Rock’s Westwood High School in 1997 and studied Education at Texas A&M University (Class of 2001). His passion for service led him to enroll in the Corps of Cadets where students chose him to serve as both Freshman Class President and Student Body Vice President. While at A&M, he met and married his wife, Kristi Bult, from Como, Texas. The Armentas have been married for 21 years.
Ben began his extensive career in business consulting and strategy with Accenture, a $43-billion enterprise that’s ranked on the Fortune 500. Ben led complex transformations within the oil and gas industry across North America. He advised some of the largest companies in the world on efficiency and effective management, reducing waste, and realizing untapped value for their employees and customers.
Ben’s experience in business and in oil and gas makes him the ideal Land Commissioner. The General Land Office itself is run like a mid-sized business. The GLO generates billions of dollars for public education across the Lone Star State. It’s in charge of over 13 million acres of Texas public land. It also manages the Alamo on behalf of the people of Texas. Ben’s vision for the Alamo is simple: Preserve and restore the Alamo to tell the Texas story clearly, fearlessly, and boldly.
Ben’s life and business experience make him the most qualified Texan to lead the storied General Land Office, the oldest agency in the state of Texas.
