Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?
No. This should be left to the campaigns.
Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?
I do not like the idea of centralized power.
A committee requires a consensus for decision. This form of governance has been consistent since the founding.
Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"
To my knowledge the "Republican brand" is not owned by anyone. Therefore you cannot enforce the use or non-use of the term. It then comes to individual responsibility to make decisions as to whether or not the PAC is of Republican principles and if that individual supports the candidate.
Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?
Yes.
Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?
Yes, as time allows.
How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)
Precinct chairs, as a servant to the election process, should have envolvement in the election. This can be in the form of active or inactive role, but must be ensure fair and truthful elections.
What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?
I do not know Mr. Phelan personally. My understanding of his performance is influenced by my industry's lobby.
The house as a whole over the past several years has enabled the minority party to have influential appointments and seats that are acting against what they are elected to do. Mr. Phelan needs to stop this practice.
