This is a Republican primary race. Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.
Yes, I promise to abide by the RPT platform.
What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1. Republican
2. Grassroots
3. Conservative
4. Tea Party
A mixture of all 4. I am a REPUBLICAN voter that believes in the necessity of electing GRASSROOTS candidates with CONSERVATIVE values to fight the corruption inherent in the system. And I have certainly been TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY.
There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.
Any revisions should reflect the preservation of liberty and limiting big government. As for particulars, I would need to take every issue on a case by case basis to give anything close to a thoughful response.
Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?
I can see the value of a chair that is seeking donations for the party but they should not be directing funds on their own accord.
Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?
A steering committee is necessary. A chair should not be making decisions alone.
Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"
Absolutely not. It can too easily be used to mislead the public.
Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?
Ideally, yes.
Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?
Yes, that is the job and it should be treated with the seriousness it deserves.
How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)
They should be guiding the voters of their precinct to the candidates that are best suited to help them towards a better future. I think they have a role in helping to find election judges and clerks and the like but should be able to chose to do those jobs themselves only if they wish.
What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?
I don't know that much about him in all honesty, but I do appreciate that he signed the arrest warrants for the 52 Democrats that fled Texas to deny quarum and that he banned the use of the word "racism" on the floor while debating that particular bill.
