What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?
Mrs. Mobley has served in this position for a long time and did a good job being active for much of that time but she is no longer able to attend the meetings, state conventions, or work as our election judge due to her age. Nearly every time I’ve seen her in the past 5 years she has remarked that she can’t keep doing this and this will be her last year in this role. I was surprised to see she had filed again.
This is a Republican primary race. Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.
I do promise to abide by the governance of the RPT platform. There are a few issues in the platform that I disagree with, most notably would be the planks on foreign wars and military aid. I believe in a strong military for national defense but do not support wars of foreign aggression or allegiance to other counties as equal to or above America in importance.
Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.
Primarily I understand it to mean a desire to preserve the principles and values on which our country was originally founded. Principles like religious freedom, personal responsibility, and a limited and representative government established by the consent of a free people. It is my belief that all of these principles have been corroded and continue to be torn down by socialist ideologies which are becoming increasingly common among Americans.
Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?
Yes
Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"
No, I believe as republicans we should aim to be above reproach in our electioneering practices which includes being transparent about who we are, what we believe, and what we working to accomplish. We should never perpetuate any confusion among voters as to whether or not they are receiving information from The Republican Party, an individual’s campaign, special interest lobby group, or a grassroots organization.

How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)
As it takes an immense amount of man power to run an election I believe it is good for all pct. Chairs to at least organize finding judges and clerks for their precinct’s polling location and being willing to serve in those positions if necessary.
Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?
Yes. I believe it gives our county a broader and more representative leadership. Since all men have faults and weaknesses I believe decentralizing power is always a good thing.
Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?
I believe all members of the county executive committee should be willing serve the Party however they are needed including attending all meetings and working on whatever committee needs help. If precinct chairs aren’t interested in doing the job they signed up for they should step down and let someone else do the work.
Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?
Yes, as the face of the county party it should be part of his job to help raise funds that will enable the party to accomplish our goals.
Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?
I think a closed primary could help reduce the amount of democrats crossing over to vote in republican primaries, which makes primaries more contentious then they need to be, though no system is foolproof and this could certainly still happen with closed primaries. We should also be careful not to make our club so exclusive and hard to join that we become irrelevant.
Should the GOP County Chair be selected by the elected County Executive Committee, or in the Open primaries where Democrats can cross over for more moderate candidates?
As republicans we believe in a representative government and it is good to model the type of government we profess to believe amongst ourselves. The body of people that have been elected at the most local level choosing their own chairman is a fine example of representative government.
There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.
I do not support any large scale changes to RPT Platform.
What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?
Speaker Phelan was elected by Democrats and RINOs and was therefore beholden to them in all of his decisions. Appointing democrats to committee chairs and other important positions who undermine limited government and the party platform is the antithesis of everything we believe as conservatives. We should electing a speaker who represents the values of the party platform to lead the majority republican Texas House.
