General

What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?

Anna Greathouse is a realtor.

This is a Republican primary race.  Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

Yes, upholding the principles outlined in the RPT platform is essential to staying true to the values and priorities of the Republican party and serving the interest of the constituents faithfully.

Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.

Adhering  to traditional values, limited government, and a preference for free-market economic policies. Emphasizing on principles such as individual liberty, personal responsibility, a strong national defense, and traditional social values, advocating for lower taxes, reduced government spending, protecting the unborn, and a strict interpretation of the Constitution

Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?

Yes

Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"

I strongly feel the ‘Republican’ brand should not be utilized by PACs in their names to avoid misleading voters. Full transparency is essential for all constituents in the county. The use of the ‘Republican’ brand should not create a false impression of party endorsement for a candidate, especially when there may be no support from the party. It is crucial to prevent the exploitation of the ‘Republican’ brand for personal gain, and maintain the integrity and political representation.

How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)

I feel a Precinct chair should do any position where they are needed during an election. I volunteer as an election judge

Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?

Yes, I like the Steering committee style.

Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?

Yes, I’m currently on the Montgomery county education committee.

Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?

The County Chair plays a crucial role in supporting the parties financial needs. They’re active involvement in fundraising ensures resources for essential tasks like producing voter guides. However, it’s important to maintain transparency and prevent personal use of funds by disallowing the formation of PACs, ensuring that all raised funds are dedicated solely to party-related expenses.

Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?

I believe closed elections are essential as they prevent crossover voting,  safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process. This ensures that the votes accurately reflect the preferences of registered party members without external interference, aimed at manipulating the outcome in favor of a particular candidate.

Should the GOP County Chair be selected by the elected County Executive Committee, or in the Open primaries where Democrats can cross over for more moderate candidates?

I support the idea of having the GOP county chair being selected by the elected CEC (County Executive Committee). This approach helps mitigate the risk of democrats crossing over to influence the selection process, ensuring that the committee, composed of committed GOP members, plays a decisive role in choosing leaders who align with the parties, values and principles.

There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.

I must admit that I am not aware of any recent discussions regarding changes to the RPT platform. However, I want to express that I would strongly oppose any modifications that contradict my beliefs and values, as I am currently aligned with the existing RPT platform.

What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?

Dade Phelan needs to be removed and impeached.

Budget

Would you support legislative action to establish a salary framework (possibly related to the Gov. salary) for all taxpayer funded employees with a stipulation that elected officials be required to get voter approval to exceed that framework for their own salaries?

I believe there should be a structured system to ensure fair compensation for government officials. This approach promotes transparency, aligning salaries with responsibilities and contributions to public service.

Education

Do you support or oppose social programs in our schools (like C-Scope, Common Core, CRT, International Baccalaureate, SEL, etc.)? Why or why not?

I am steadfast in my opposition to these programs, and our schools, deeming them as Marxist. It’s my strong belief that schools should not groom or indoctrinate. This conviction led me to join the Montgomery County education committee, where I consistently attend school board meetings, speak during public comments, attend Student Health  Advisory Committee (SHAC) meetings regularly, travel to Austin for SBOE, and actively locate and challenge inappropriate books. Through my involvement, I am committed to training others to do the same. I firmly stand by the principle that we should not co-parent with the government. Parents are supposed to shape  their children’s values and beliefs.

Ethics

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

Just some youthful indiscretions.

Do you agree with precinct chairs involvement in republican primaries? Why or why not?

Yes, a Precinct Chair plays a crucial role in primary elections by engaging with voters at the Grassroots level, mobilizing support for their party’s candidate, and ensuring a smooth voting process within there, Precinct. Their involvement helps build community connections, increases voter, turn out, and contributes to the democratic process.

Should the county GOP chair be involved in any other political organizations, including PAC's, while serving a term as the chairman? Why or why not?

As individuals, we inherently possess the constitutional right to be self-governing citizens, regardless of our political positions. It is essential for a chairman to uphold impartiality refraining from promoting or showing bias toward any PACSs or affiliated groups. It is crucial not to create an appearance that these groups are officially associated with the republican party.

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, sign of heartbeat, 3 months of pregnancy, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

  • At conception.
  • Advocacy: Publicly speaking about the issue engaging with constituents. Also speaking with lawmakers to raise awareness
  • Lobbying: work with advocacy groups, or personally communicate with legislators to express views on specific legislation.
  • Petitioning: collect signatures for petitions if necessary, and presenting it to lawmakers
  • Participate in public hearings: attend, hearing related to pro life, issues, providing testimony, and input to lawmakers.
  • Coalition building: collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations to strengthen the collective voice
  • Education: Share information about pro-life, through various social media outlets.
  • I am currently a volunteer with the Gabriels project through my church, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting pregnant mothers during their pregnancy, and up to six months after birth, addressing any needs they may have.
Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

I believe that within constitutional parameters, all necessary measures should be taken to protect our borders. Ensuring the security of our borders is essential for the well-being and safety of our nation.

Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

Being a conservative to me signifies, valuing, individual, freedom, limited government, and traditional values. It means promoting personal responsibility, fostering, free-market principles, and preserving the principles that have shaped our nation. Embracing fiscal responsibility , a strong national defense, and the belief in the enduring strength of our constitution are integral aspects of my conservative perspective.

List 3 changes that should be made to how elections are conducted in Montgomery County.

  • Paper ballots for increased transparency, and security
  • Condense voting to a single day, to streamline the process and enhance efficiency.
  • Discontinuing mail in ballots to prioritize in person voting for a more accountable electoral system
