declared

My family and I moved to Texas in 2007. In 2012, we bought our home in Oak Ridge North. After the 2020 election I felt the need to be involved, so when I was asked to fill in the remainder of the term for Precinct 35 Chair, I accepted. I was elected to this position in May of 2022.

I am a Constitutional conservative, and believe in limited government that is controlled by “We the People”. I am a Christian and believe that God is our ultimate authority.

I am heartbroken when I see the direction that our country is going. I believe that the majority of Americans concerns are not being heard. Yes, we are the majority, do not let the main stream media convince you otherwise.

Questionnaire

General

What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?

Over the past six years it has become clear that one of the major issues that we face in our country is that the same families are running everything. This type of activity has taken away the voices of the people and left it in the hands of a few. Mrs. Rummel has a daughter who is the current Montgomery County Precinct 45 Chair. Let's make sure that we keep our voices heard here in Montgomery County by not having a select few families making all of the decisions.

This is a Republican primary race.  Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

I do promise to abide by the platform rules.

Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.

To me a conservative is someone who acknowledges that we need less government in our daily lives. The federal government has grown tremendously and there are so many departments that employ almost 3 million people. Many agencies have created regulations that have not been voted on by Congress, and this is in contrast to what the Constitution allows. The Legislative branch is the only one who can create laws. The spending by all 3 branches of government is completely out of control. We need to have a budget and start living within our means. We need to route out the corruption in all areas of our government and any outside elements that have played a role in the coruption. We need to restore power to the people to govern themselves as our founding fathers had designed it.

Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?

I have and will continue to attend the CEC meetings and any committee meetings in which I am a part of. I have enjoyed the training sessions, they have been great in learning how to reach out to those in my community.

Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"

No, because it is deceptive to potential voters that the PAC is representing the Republican Party.

What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1.        Republican
2.        Grassroots
3.        Conservative
4.        Tea Party

Constitutional conservative, I honestly believe that we need to get back to a simple form of government, where our representatives spend more time talking to us than they do in DC. That we have less regulations that inhibit our potential. We need to completely close some of the federal government departments and allow the people to govern themselves. Our state could probably benefit from losing some dead weight departments also.

How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)

It is good for the precinct chair to participate in the elections, I think that every precinct chair should be an election judge at least once. Being an election judge is stressful and requires someone to be very detail oriented. In my opinion, a precinct chair needs to be a good communicator far moreso than being an election judge.

Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?

Committee style, as long as the committee is a well rounded representation of the people.

Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?

Yes. I am currently on the resolutions committee. I have learned a lot by being a part of this group and how things flow from the people to the county, state and federal Republican Party levels.

Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?

Absolutely, I would like to think that this is part of their job description. One of the primary purposes for the county party is to grow the party and to financially participate in our "GOTV" campaign efforts ex: mailers, push cards, phone texts.

Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?

As recently as 2 years ago, I thought open, but the more I learn about election integrity issues from some of our other precinct chairs who have been working on election issues for years, I have to say closed now.

Should the GOP County Chair be selected by the elected County Executive Committee, or in the Open primaries where Democrats can cross over for more moderate candidates?

Undecided

There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.

Undecided

What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?

Dade Phelan, should resign or be expelled from his role as chairman of the House.

Budget

Would you support legislative action to establish a salary framework (possibly related to the Gov. salary) for all taxpayer funded employees with a stipulation that elected officials be required to get voter approval to exceed that framework for their own salaries?

I would support an action to disallow elected officials to authorize their own wage increases. This should be a vote by the people every time.

Education

Do you support or oppose social programs in our schools (like C-Scope, Common Core, CRT, International Baccalaureate, SEL, etc.)? Why or why not?

No. CRT is causing division in our country and this is not how we should teach children to view the world.

Ethics

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

No

Do you agree with precinct chairs involvement in republican primaries? Why or why not?

If you mean, should precinct chairs be allowed to support any candidate in the republican primary. If we cannot support a particular individual how are we supposed to effectively remove ineffective incumbents. Precinct chairs should participate in blockwalking, as many GOTV events as possible, and help by being a judge/clerk.

Should the county GOP chair be involved in any other political organizations, including PAC's, while serving a term as the chairman? Why or why not?

I think the chairman should be allowed to be a member, but not a leader or committee member within another political organization or PAC and this information should be made public. The county chair should not raise funds for other groups as it is a clear conflict of interest. If there is a conflict of interest the chairman should be removed from their position as county chair.

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, sign of heartbeat, 3 months of pregnancy, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

Life begins at conception and I will stand support any laws protecting the unborn.

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

The state has the first obligation to protect our border and to remove any illegal immigrants. The federal government has a bigger role as we are being invaded and it is their responsibility to protect and defend the states. This is a huge issue and can be addressed in several ways, but first and formost, finish the wall that President Trump started.

Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

Less government and regulations. Allowing the people of the communities and states to govern themselves.

List 3 changes that should be made to how elections are conducted in Montgomery County.

1. Single day elections

2. Paper ballots - no machines

3. Hand counted at the precinct

Do you support current RPT chair Matt Rinaldi in full and if not, what do you disagree with?

I don't have any reasons to not support Rinaldi as of the date of this questionaire.
