I am a Conservative Christian, a Native Texan and have been a Republican for 30+ years. My husband and I served in ministry and church planting for 17+ years and are highly involved in our local church. I graduated from Howard Payne University in 1988 and 89 with degrees in Economics/Finance and Management.  I volunteered with Mighty American Strike Force to canvass for the Georgia Senate Run-off for a week in 2022 and have served as Precinct 106 Chair since June of 2023, with a lifetime of involvement and support of conservative causes both local and national.  I am a trained Election Judge, highly committed to election integrity and worked the last election as a clerk.  I am serving as Precinct Chair because I want to help my community mobilize to cast an informed vote in the next election and to serve my neighbors by assisting them to become more engaged in the voting process.

Questionnaire

General

What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?

.

This is a Republican primary race.  Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

Yes.  I will fully support the RPT platform.

Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.

Conservatives should be patriotic and promote the values our nation was founded upon.  They should protect our Constitution, our God-given freedoms and rights and should support the principles of limited government, free market capitalism and the rule of law applied without favor to all Americans.

Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?

Yes, I am willing to commit my time to completing ALL the duties of an active precinct chair and to assist and help other members of my precinct become more active in the voting process.

Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"

Absolutely not.  I have yet to see a PAC who uses the name “Republican” in their name in an honest manner.  100% of those I have seen use the name “Republican” to deceive voters into thinking they are the mainline party opinion when they are not.

What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1.        Republican
2.        Grassroots
3.        Conservative
4.        Tea Party

Grassroots

How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)

Precinct chairs should be involved in every election impacting their precinct.  They should either be campaigning in the parking lot of their voting location or they should be trained and serving as election judges and clerks so they can help guard our election integrity.  They should also recruit people in their precinct to be trained to work the elections so they can be free to promote Republican causes by campaigning and passing out voter guides at their assigned voting sites at early voting and election days.

Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?

It is imperative that a Steering Committee provide leadership because, by nature, a committee is more reflective of the interests of ALL Republicans in the county, as opposed to one person (a chairman).  Committee structures have natural checks and balances to power which we desperately need in Montgomery County because we have a split of Republican interests which have divided us for too long.  A Committee structure, supported by the County Chair and properly applied, would solve this issue.

Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?

Absolutely, it is part of the expectations of the job.  If you don't have the time to commit, please step aside and let someone else do the job properly.

Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?

Our County Chair should be involved in fundraising as long as there is no conflict of interest and they do not benefit personally from the funds raised for Republican candidates.

Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?

Closed.  Open primaries allow non-Republicans to participate in electing who survives the primary and have a huge impact on the General Election (all parties).  Non-Republicans who don’t have our party’s best interest at heart should not be allowed to vote on Republican candidates.

Should the GOP County Chair be selected by the elected County Executive Committee, or in the Open primaries where Democrats can cross over for more moderate candidates?

County Chair should be elected by the County Executive Committee because they know who has actually been involved and serving the party in their past work.  When elected in open primaries, a person can become County Chair with no relevant past experience working for the party just because they have more money to campaign.   It is an internal party position and should be elected by the County Executive Committee because they are the most informed about the candidates.

There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.

I would support any revisions that bring the platform back to how it looked when Ronald Reagan was President.  I would be against any other revisions to the platform unless they are truly conservative in nature.

What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?

Dade Phelan should resign or be replaced as Speaker.  I am personally embarrassed that he calls himself a Republican and that he has appeared to be drunk when he is leading the House on numerous occasions.  In my opinion, his agreement to lead the failed impeachment of Ken Paxton was a low-point of his career and an indicator that he is firmly in the camp of the Uni-Party, and not the Republican Party.

Budget

Would you support legislative action to establish a salary framework (possibly related to the Gov. salary) for all taxpayer funded employees with a stipulation that elected officials be required to get voter approval to exceed that framework for their own salaries?

Yes, no one should be voting themselves raises.

Education

Do you support or oppose social programs in our schools (like C-Scope, Common Core, CRT, International Baccalaureate, SEL, etc.)? Why or why not?

Schools should focus on teaching our children reading, writing, arithmetic, science and skills that prepare them for college or career, all while giving parents ultimate authority to decide what and how their children are taught.   Any revolutionary ideas contrary to our Constitution should never be taught in our schools.

Ethics

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

No.

Do you agree with precinct chairs involvement in republican primaries? Why or why not?

Yes, they are the true “grassroots” workers in their own neighborhoods, so they are the most representative of everyday people.   They are also elected in Republican primaries, so they have to be involved if they have someone running against them.  They make a big difference in reaching people with voter guides and issues positions so they can have an informed vote.  They do the heavy lifting in every election by canvassing, making sure all the voters in their precinct are registered to vote and helping them with information to better inform their vote.   Precinct Chairs are the unsung heroes.

Should the county GOP chair be involved in any other political organizations, including PAC's, while serving a term as the chairman? Why or why not?

The County Chair should not be involved in any PAC or other political organization that brings them a personal profit.  That is a serious conflict of interest and should be investigated if it occurs.

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, sign of heartbeat, 3 months of pregnancy, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

Life begins at conception and any attempts to jail or prosecute those who LAWFULLY use their 1st Amendment rights to express this view outside abortion clinics should be stopped.

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

  1. Do you want the whole list or just the top 10? smiley
  2. Close our border and build a wall.
  3. Cut off all benefits and the granting of constitutional rights to illegals.
  4. Mass deportation of illegals.
  5. E-Verify to hold a job should be mandatory
  6. Fire federal employees who refuse to enforce our immigration laws.
  7. Entry and exit records should be kept track of; implement the current laws
  8. End sanctuary cities policy.
  9. Enforce the current laws
  10. Enforce the current laws
Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

Conservatives should be patriotic and promote the values our nation was founded upon.  They should protect our Constitution, our God-given freedoms and rights and should support the principles of limited government, free market capitalism and the rule of law applied without favor to all Americans.

List 3 changes that should be made to how elections are conducted in Montgomery County.

  1. Cameras should be everywhere that the ballots travel, are being handled, or are being counted and Poll watchers from all parties should be allowed to observe and engage an election judge to step in if policies are not followed correctly or anything suspicious occurs.
  2. Watermarked Paper Ballots; no machines. The printing and quantity of printed ballots should be tightly controlled.
  3. The process for Citizens to call for a hand recount, including Mail In and Overseas Ballots, should be made much easier. It should be made much more difficult for a hand recount to be denied by Election Officials.

Do you support current RPT chair Matt Rinaldi in full and if not, what do you disagree with?

Yes, I fully support Matt Rinaldi as the current chair and hope the next Republican Convention will result in more conservative Republicans (not Rhinos) being elected to the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) so that Matt can continue to move the party in a more conservative direction.
