Questionnaire

General

What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?

1).

2).

This is a Republican primary race.  Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

Yes, I promise to abide by the Republican Party Platform

Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.

To be a Conservative implies a person who understands our Founding Fathers and promotes policies to preserve the values of our Christian Nation. It also implies protecting and defending the United States Constitution as it was originally written. They especially our God-given freedoms as found in the Bill of Rights. It has long been associated with the principles of limited government, free markets, and the rule of law.

Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?

Yes, I will allocate the time it will take to attend CEC meetings, blockwalking, and additional time as needed.

Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"

I see PACs that deceive voters by using the Republican Brand in their name as a threat to the voters and the party.

What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1.        Republican
2.        Grassroots
3.        Conservative
4.        Tea Party

How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)

During early voting, I think Precinct Chairs being outside the Polls helps get the voters good information. On election day either inside or out, inside I feel I am helping voter integrity outside I am helping inform.

Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?

I see the Steering Committee style of leadership keeping better contact with the grassroots of the Republican Party so the people who put skin in the game get input, giving us servant-style leadership.

Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?

Committees are very important to getting the job of the party done, so wherever possible County Executive Committee Members should participate in at least one which is almost always.

Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?

This is part of the GOP County Chair job description. He should be at every fundraiser for the Party because he will involve those in elected offices. And like committees, their involvement will improve the chance of success in fundraising.

Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?

A closed primary helps ensure Party loyalty. Candidates are people proven to be on the party’s team. Not influenced by anyone who wants to harm the Republican Party.

Should the GOP County Chair be selected by the elected County Executive Committee, or in the Open primaries where Democrats can cross over for more moderate candidates?

No, only confirmed Republicans should be able to vote for the GOP County Chair.

There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.

I don’t know of any at this time I have worked over the years to make the Platform strong.

What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?

He has failed to pass most of the Republican priorities over his tenure, appointed Democrat Representatives to be Committee Chairs, and other things helpful to Democrats more than Republicans.

Budget

Would you support legislative action to establish a salary framework (possibly related to the Gov. salary) for all taxpayer funded employees with a stipulation that elected officials be required to get voter approval to exceed that framework for their own salaries?

Yes, I believe that there needs to be checks and balances placed on Gov. salaries.

Education

Do you support or oppose social programs in our schools (like C-Scope, Common Core, CRT, International Baccalaureate, SEL, etc.)? Why or why not?

Social programs in our school often foster ideologies trying to circumvent parents' ultimate authority. And are contrary to our Constitution. These try to overthrow the foundations of the United States. Schools should educate children on basics while teaching respect for family, faith, and laws.

Ethics

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

No.

Do you agree with precinct chairs involvement in republican primaries? Why or why not?

Yes, Precinct Chairs are the grassroots members and so they play a pivotal role in the primaries in reaching the people with Conservative ideas.

Should the county GOP chair be involved in any other political organizations, including PAC's, while serving a term as the chairman? Why or why not?

The GOP County Chairman should not use his/her position and the Republican Brand to profit personally; this creates a serious conflict of interests.

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, sign of heartbeat, 3 months of pregnancy, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

God defines life as beginning at conception thus the laws of Texas and the Nation should reflect that and protect the not yet born as the laws protect every other human. It also must help women and men see that when they hurt their unborn they hurt themselves.

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

  1. First the border must be closed. Deportation operations would be ineffective if the border is not closed. People will tend to self-deport if they are here illegally and there is the threat of deportation.
  2. Cutting off financial assistance would also have a positive effect because most of the Illegals are coming for economic benefits.
  3. Enforcing everify laws will force illegal Aliens to return home and thus low income American wages would increase because there would be less competition for those jobs.
Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

Being conservative means to preserve the values foundational to our Christian Nation. We always ask our elected officials to swear to protect and defend the United States Constitution be they conservative or liberal. Limited government, free market capitalism, and the rule of law being applied evenly are other hallmarks of being conservative.

List 3 changes that should be made to how elections are conducted in Montgomery County.

  1. The chain of custody should be strict enough to ensure no errors in who has voted and that they are qualified.
  2. It should be easy to show that Paper Ballots and computed totals match.
  3. The process for Citizens to call for a hand recount, including Mail-In and Overseas Ballots, should be easier. It should be made much more difficult for a hand recount to be denied by Election Officials.

Do you support current RPT chair Matt Rinaldi in full and if not, what do you disagree with?

I fully support Chairman Matt Rinaldi. He can help move the Party in a conservative direction as he has support
