declared

I grew up in Birmingham, AL and attended Jacksonville State University. In 1972, I married my Marine Corps husband, Ken Hankins, and we were stationed in many interesting places including 29 Palms CA and Okinawa. When he retired from the Marine Corps after 24 years of military service, (Air Defense) we moved to Alabama, and became Realtors in 2004 and worked as a team. From 1987-1992, my husband worked for Union Carbide (Linde Division) and we were transferred to the Buffalo NY area for several grueling and cold years. He retired, and we moved back to my home state of Alabama. After 23 years in Alabama, we returned to Texas in 2021,where our youngest daughter and her family live.

We have 2 children, Kerri-Leigh Grady (married to a Navy Captain and currently living in Everett WA while my son in law is stationed at The Pentagon.) Kerri works for Amazon as a computer guru. They have 2 children: Rowan Grady (19) and Aiden Grady (18).

Our youngest child is Jamie Moulds (married to John Calvin Moulds) who owns his own successful roofing and remodeling business in Spring TX. amie is a teacher at Hofius in the Klein ISD. We have 2 additional grandsons with Jamie and John. Brandon Moulds (14) and Ian Moulds (4)

Together, my husband and I helped open two Keller Williams Realty offices in the Birmingham, AL area. I also opened my own real estate school in 2015, in my Keller Williams office in Alabaster AL, and was very successful helping others obtain their real estate licenses. I also taught many classes for my Keller Williams associates. My favorite training was the Contracts Class because that is the one thing that can ruin a Realtor's business and life, if they don't understand the contracts they write every day.

I still have my real estate license in Alabama "for referrals only". And have decided not to renew it this coming August 2023 as I have found a great position as a Travel Advisor with Inteletravel (working remotely from home) and I plan to be actively working with the Montgomery Tea Party to help save our country as long as I am able. And I am glad to be a part of this VERY IMPORTANT election!

General

What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?

1. Tom Conley lives in Montgomery, TX

2. Tom Conley is a Republican

This is a Republican primary race.  Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

I have NO problems, myself, with abiding by the RPT platform. The only "personal" issue I "may have in the future" that has just come to light is the ability to attend EVERY meeting over the next few months. My husband of 51 years, a retired Marine, is having a biopsy on Monday morning, December 18th, and we don't know what that outcome is going to be until late December. I will always perform the duties that I have pledged to the Republican Party to the BEST of my ability, My passion is to help save my Country.

Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.

My belief on the word "Conservative" is that Conservatives believe we have the right to bear arms per the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution. I feel that Conservatives are a more Patriotic Party who believe in the Rule of Law, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion and the majority choose a closer walk with God when making decisions and helping others in times of need.

Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?

Absolutely! i helped Suzanne Rappatoni over the last 2 years and served as an election clerk. I loved blockwalking and meeting the neighbors. Iam also very fond of training sessions. I feel the more I learn, the more I am able to help others.

Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"

ABSOLUTELY NOT! It appears to me and what I have read lately regarding deception  that has leaked into our Montgomery County Republican Party, that this has been terribly abused in the past, and when voters go to the polls and are handed a ballot that says ‘Republican’, they should have confidence that it is actually a ‘Republican’ they are voting for!.

What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1.        Republican
2.        Grassroots
3.        Conservative
4.        Tea Party

If I had to choose only one "TEA PARTY" would be my ideology.

How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)

Absolutely! In fact, I would like to know more about the training for election judge.

Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?

I do feel that if a Steering Committee is currently in place, and it is helping our party, then it should remain in place. When government or committees get "too big", I feel things could get contentious. Until that time, I feel the Tea Party should remain with the Steering Committee style of leadership.

Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?

Yes I do! It is essential that the Precinct Chairs participate in as much as they can. It keeps our party stronger.

Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?

I feel that, unless the county GOP chair has been totally vetted and has proven, over time, to be honest and supportive of the Party. However, it appears that this has already come to pass, and fraudulent practices are currently happening. I would feel that any future GOP chair must have a time limit to prove their honesty and character prior to any involvement in fundraising. Political corruption is Poison to our state and our country!

Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?

I vote for "Closed". In my opinion, "Open" would open the door for sabotage...and we have had too much of that with past elections around the country!

Should the GOP County Chair be selected by the elected County Executive Committee, or in the Open primaries where Democrats can cross over for more moderate candidates?

GOP County Chair should be elected by the CEC to keep the election HONEST!

There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.

I have reviewed The Eight Legislative Priorities for the 88th Session of the TX Legislature:

1. PROTECT OUR ELECTIONS: - Without fair elections, we have no protection, and we can lose our country. I agree that the only mail in ballots are for disabled, military, and citizens that are out of state. I WOULD LIKE FOR THEM TO ALSO CONSIDER THOSE CITIZENS/MILITARY WHO ARE BEDRIDDEN AT HOME OR IN A FACILITY, AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO CAST THEIR VOTE DUE TO LACK OF TRANSPORTATION OR ILLNESS. I am totally onboard with getting rid of the machines because they ARE connected to the Internet! I have seen the proof on documentation that is posted on Frank Speech, and I don't want China changing any more votes! I am in total favor of handcounting votes no matter how long it takes to count them! I am totally onboard with reducing the time allowed for early voting and eliminating the 3 day gap between early voting and election day and to establish closed primaries in Texas.

2. SECURE THE BORDER AND PROTECT TEXANS:  This is a MUST!!! I agree with every word in this Priority!

3. BAN GENDER MODIFICATION OF CHILDREN: - ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

4.STOP SEXUALIZING TEXAS KIDS: ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

5. BAN DEMOCRAT CHAIRS: If this can be accomplished legally, I am all for it, INCLUDING PROVEN RHINO'S

6.ABOLISH ABORTION IN TEXAS: I am a mom of 2 beautiful girls with their own familes, and I cannot comprehend someone having an abortion because it wasn't "in their plan". Life is precious, and given to us by God Almighty! What sorrow He must endure when abortions happen. I agree and would be proud with Abolishing Abortion in TX!

7. DEFEND OUR GUN RIGHTS: I totally agree with this Priority and would like it to also include prohibiting firearm confiscation without due process.

8. PARENTAL RIGHTS AND EDUCATIONAL FREEDOM:I totally agaree with this Priority!

What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?

From what I have read, I feel that he is no longer representing Conservatives, as he should,  and is not to be trusted as I believe he was in on trying to bring down AG Ken Paxton

Budget

Would you support legislative action to establish a salary framework (possibly related to the Gov. salary) for all taxpayer funded employees with a stipulation that elected officials be required to get voter approval to exceed that framework for their own salaries?

My thoughts are the Governor should have a salary framework. While the elected officials should prove themselves to the public and work honestly and hard to gain our trust and a vote approval for a "raise". No one should go into politics with the intention of getting wealthy. They need to prove they are serving their country/or state. It is unfortunate that many Americans have lost trust in many of our governmental officials, and we now realize their "pockets" need to be monitored. Too many defectors who beleive they can get away with corruptness...and become wealthy. Unfortunately, this affects everyone who may run for office to legitimately serve our country. Yes, we all need an income to survive. Unfortunately, there are some "bad apples" that have lowered the people's trust in our government. Therefore, I feel the tax payer funded employees should be required to get voter approval to exceed that framework for their own salaries.

Education

Do you support or oppose social programs in our schools (like C-Scope, Common Core, CRT, International Baccalaureate, SEL, etc.)? Why or why not?

My youngest daughter is currently a teacher in the Klein ISD. She has taught in many different ways starting with the Hope Center helping juvenile delinquents, to a Boot Camp in Jacksonville, progressing to become a Juvenile Probation Officer for Galveston County. She went back for her Master's Degree and has now taught in several ISD's in and around the Houston area. Last year, she was able to move to a school in the Klein ISD (where she used to attend school when we lived in Spring, TX in 1987-1992. We have discussed the issue of Common Core and CRT. The kids are not getting the education they deserve. They are not being challenged to learn. I have a step grandson that is in high school right now. He is not ready for a higher education, and probably will never be.Our young children will not be ready for college with all the constraints the teachers have on them. I am so TOTALLY AGAINST ALL OF THESE SOCIAL PROGRAMS IN OUR SCHOOLS. I am realizing that there are so many children being home schooled these days. I applaud the parents for that. But the home schooled kids are missing the social part of school...having many riends throughout the years.

Ethics

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

No

Do you agree with precinct chairs involvement in republican primaries? Why or why not?

Yes I do feel that precinct chairs need to be involved in republican primaries. When visiting with the people in the precinct, they have questions and need information. The more precinct chairs are involved, the more they can serve and educate those who want to know more, and get them involved! One of my goals is to let my precinct know about the Tea Party Meetings and get them involved there as well!

Should the county GOP chair be involved in any other political organizations, including PAC's, while serving a term as the chairman? Why or why not?

Absolutely not! I feel this is one of the reasons we have the current problem!

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, sign of heartbeat, 3 months of pregnancy, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

At conception!!

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

GET PRESIDENT TRUMP BACK IN OFFCE AND BUILD THAT WALL WITH RAZOR WIRE ON TOP! TRUMP ALSO HAS A PLAN TO FIND AND DEPORT ALL OF THESE ILLEGALS WHO ARE CURRENTLY IN OUR COUNTRY! I SAY GIVE HIM FREE REIGN TO GET ALL OF THIS DONE!

Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

To me, it means Love of Country, Preserving Freedom, and always abiding by the Constitution of the United States.

List 3 changes that should be made to how elections are conducted in Montgomery County.

GET RID OF THE MACHINES!

 Use paper ballots!

No cell phones allowed in the voting area

Do you support current RPT chair Matt Rinaldi in full and if not, what do you disagree with?

The research I have done on James Dickey shows that he was involved in a Hedgefund scheme in 2006. He never pled guilty; however, he did refund $35,000 over 25 months. I am not accusing him as I don't know all the facts. During this time, I lived in Alabama and not Texas. My feelings are if he is planning on running for office again, we need to really scruitinize his background from 2006 to the present time. I would say "proceed with caution".Therefore, I do not support him in full until I have more information on him. If my assessment is incorrect, I would welcome more information about RPT chair James Dickey.
