What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?
1. I have never seen nor met Tommy Duke, nor seen him at any local Republican CEC events.
2. I do not recall Tommy Duke participating in any precint activites, party rallies, parades, voter registration drives at local festivals, or otherwise is he known locally participating in elections.
This is a Republican primary race. Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.
If I am re-elected I will continue to abide fully with the RPT platform.
Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.
Conservative means to me being careful and thoughtful and and a good steward with the tax dollars you are taking from the people that you are representing.
Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?
These things I have done, and if re-elected I will continue to do.
Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"
That is very confusing to almost everyone, and until about 8 years ago I was also very confused going to the poles to vote and being handed multiple different flyers with Republican endorsements, recommending different "Republican" causes, and trying to research whom created it and why was very deceiving and led me to distrust them.
What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1. Republican
2. Grassroots
3. Conservative
4. Tea Party
Grassroots.
How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)
I believe and practice educating and recruiting neighborhood folks to fill the roles of judge and clerk, and myself as precint chair my primary role is to prepare and hold a local precint convention when it is necessary.
Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?
Oh yes the Steering Committee is without a doubt the best way to stay in tune and in touch with what the body of the CEC wants, and I don't belive my opponent even knows what that is. I declare and am running for re-election because my current County Chairman acts like a tyrant.
Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?
Honestly there are many many local opportunities to just do grassroots voter education without having to form a committee to do that, I believe a precint chair is a soldier mostly in the structure of the CEC.
Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?
Yes , because it takes money to get the GOP word out to the voters in the precint, printing material is expensive but necessary, and postage isn't free either.
Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?
