What 2 things about your opponent do the voters need to know?
I don't know my opponent
This is a Republican primary race. Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.
Yes
Define what the word "Conservative" means to you.
"Conservative" to me means staying true to the Founders' intent of limited government and honoring the God-given rights of the people as identified in our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Are you willing to put in the time necessary to attend CEC meetings, additional committee meetings, training sessions, blockwalking, etc?
Yes. It will be my responsibility to keep my neighbors informed of current local Republican issues and attending meetings and trainings will help facilitate that.
Do you think the 'Republican' brand should be used by PACs in their names that may deceive voters? Why or why not?"
No. Just because a group is labeled "Republican" does not necessarily mean that they hold to the platform. Deception is rampant out there.
What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1. Republican
2. Grassroots
3. Conservative
4. Tea Party
3. Conservative. Conservative encompasses all the others as well.
How do you believe precinct chairs should be involved in elections? (election judge, clerk, none?)
I think the precinct chair can fill the position of election judge or where needed. There are many needs at the local level. The precinct chair is the party's connection to our neighbors, making them aware of what's going on and encouraging involvement.
Do you like the Steering Committee style of leadership currently in place or that of just a county chairman?
I've not experienced either, but it seems to me that a steering committee would allow more than one voice and opinion to be considered.
Do you beieve that the county chair/precinct chairs should actively participate in at least one committee?
If they are able, sure, but I don't think it should be required. I think it would depend on someone's availability, as we are all volunteers.
Should the county GOP chair be involved with fundraising? Why or why not?
Yes. The county GOP chair, as local representation of the party, can encourage residents to give and help further the party's agenda and help get out the vote.
Should party primaries be "open" or "closed" & why?
Closed. There's no reason for them to be open. Voters have already decided where they stand and should not be allowed to crossover and influence or effect other party's outcomes.
Should the GOP County Chair be selected by the elected County Executive Committee, or in the Open primaries where Democrats can cross over for more moderate candidates?
The GOP County Chair should be selected by the County Executive Committee as the Committee will be the most familiar with those seeking the position, based on current and previous participation in the county party.
There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.
No revisions.
What's your position on Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan?
The majority Republican House of Representatives should appoint a true Republican to the position. He's not one.
