The U.S. House of Representatives, jointly with the U.S. Senate, makes and passes federal laws. The House has 435 seats, proportionally representing the population of the 50 states.

Texas' Eighth Congressional District is currently represented by Kevin Brady (R), who was first elected to the seat in 1996. The district includes significant portions of the following counties:

  • Grimes
  • Houston
  • Leon
  • Madison
  • Montgomery
  • San Jacinto
  • Trinity
  • Walker

It also includes a small segment of Harris County.
