The constitutional amendment increasing the amount of the residence homestead exemption from ad valorem taxation for public school purposes from $25,000 to $40,000.
Major Issues
1. Increases the Homestead Exemption by $15,000. Still no reduction impact for seniors/disabled, as for those >65 yrs old - yet;
2. Per Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick - "This would increase the amount homeowners can deduct from their home's value before school tax tates are levied from $25,000 to $40,000";
