Conroe ISD Board of Trustee 6

office

Established in 1892, Conroe ISD is a 348-square-mile school district that is geographically diverse and includes The Woodlands, Shenandoah, Oak Ridge North, Conroe, and Grangerland, as well as several other smaller towns, communities, and unincorporated areas. As the 9th largest district in Texas and the 60th largest in the U.S., Conroe ISD serves approximately 74,000 students across 70 campuses and is one of the fastest-growing districts in the State with current enrollment growth averaging 2,500 students per year. In addition to being the largest school district in Montgomery County, Conroe ISD is the largest employer with over 10,000 employees.

CISD has seven board positions and one superintendent.

Major Issues

1.  CISD expects an $11.9 million budget shortfall in 2024-25.

2.  The Board, Superintendent and developers normally spend a huge amount of money into duping the public into voting for extraordinarily large bonds, that are normally not needed.

3.  There seems to be a constant battle by parents and a leftist-leaning majority of the board regarding porn in the school libraries.

4.  Several members of the board have arrogantly & derisively challenged parents during school board meetings.

5.  Student discipline
